Ceramics and textile in Fergana Valley

An exciting cultural tour to Fergana Valley is a tour for those who are willing to learn more about the culture of this picturesque region of fertile plains and Uzbek traditional crafts. In the Fergana Valley, you will visit Rishtan, the homeland of pottery, wool carpets craftsmen who pass secrets of their ingenuity for generations; Kokand with its Royal Palace, madrasahs and mosques; Margilan – a traditional silk producing center which is still on high demand all over the world.

  • Meeting on arrival and transfer to pre-booked hotel. Full day sightseeing tour in Tashkent, during which, you will see the old and new parts of our capital. First half of a day includes excursion to Hast-Imam architectural complex, where you can see famous Koran of Caliph Osman – VIII century manuscript Koran.

    Then proceed to Chorsu Bazaar, which was very famous on the Great Silk Road and Kukeldash Madrassah constructed in XIX century. After lunch the second half of excursion starts: here you will see - Independence and Amir Temur Squares, Museums of Applied Arts and Amir Temur, Tashkent Metro, Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Alisher Navoi etc. When you will finish the excursion, drive to restaurant for having a dinner. Overnight at hotel.

  • After early breakfast at hotel the drivers will pick you up and will drive to Fergana valley via Rishtan and Kokand towns. En route you will have a short photo stop for taking a photos of picturesque serpentine road of Kamchik Pass (H=2267m). Upon arrival to Kokand excursion to the Khudayar-Khan Palace, Jome Mosque and Norbut-biy Madrassah XVIIIc and continue to Rishtan town to the ceramic workshop of Rustam Usmanov - the house of a well-known ceramic master Rustam Usmanov – prominent ceramic master, who usually take a part in international ceramic festivals and exhibitions. Here masters will show their works and the process of pottery making and here you will have lunch. Upon arrival transfer to hotel and check in. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

  • Morning drive to Margilan town and visit “Yodgorlik” silk-producing factory to see all of the stages of process of silk production. After excursion in silk-producing factory continue to local bazaar (market) to see and feel national coloring of Fergana Valley. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch drive to railway station to catch an evening train to Tashkent. On arrival to Tashkent transfer to the hotel and check in. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

  • Early breakfast and transfer to Samarkand by "Afrosiyob" express train.

    Arrival at Samarkand. Meeting and assistance upon arrival. Today you will have full day excursion around Samarkand. The first monument is the heart of Samarkand Registan ensemble which consists of three madrassahs – Sher-Dor, Mirzo Ulugbek and Tilla Kori. Later visit famous Gur-Emir mausoleum – the family tomb of great conqueror Tamerlane, Bibi-Khanym  Mosque – this monument was built by Tamerlane for his wife, Shakhi-Zinda necropolis  - here is buried the cousin of prophet Kussam Ibn Abbas, who is one of the outstanding persons among all, which are buried in Shakhi Zinda. Also you will have opportunity to visit  Khodja-Daniil (Daniyar) Mausoleum and Mirzo Ulugbek’s observatory – the construction which was used for observing the stars by first prominent astronomer. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

  • Today you will be picked up by the drivers and will be brought to Shakhrisabz – Tamerlane’s motherland through the Takhtakaracha Pass (H=1610 m). En route you will have “Demons’ Plateau” (“Shaitan Dzhiga” mystical field covered with large stones) to Shakhrisabz town. Today you will see Ak-Saray (“White Palace” 1380-1404), then visit Dorus-Tilovat ensemble( XIV c.), Ensemble of Dorus-Saodat mausoleum (“Place of Power”, XIV c.), Shamsuddin Kulola Mausoleum, Timur’s tomb, Kok-Gumbaz mosque (1435), Khazrat-Imam mosque and graceful Gumbazi-Seyidon mausoleum.  Later drive back to Samarkand. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at  hotel.

  • Breakfast at hotel. Start your trip to Bukhara. Before arrival in city visit Gijduvan city to see the ceramic workshop of Alisher Nasrullaev. Today you will have excursion in the old city. You will see Lyabi Khauz Ensemble which consists of Khanaka (17th c.), Nodir Devon Begi (17th c.), and Kukeldash madrassahs  (16th c.), Magoki Attari mosque (12 – 16th cc.), (16th c.), Toki Zargaron, Toki Sarrafon and Toki-Telpak Furushon trading domes, Poi-Kalon architectural complex which includes famous Kalon minaret (1127) and Kalon mosque (16th c.), Abdullazizkhan madrassah (17th c.), Miri Arab madrassah (16th c.) and Ulugbek madrassah (15th c.). Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

  • Morning after breakfast you will continue sightseeing tour in Bukhara. Today you will see the Ark fortress (1st c. BC – 19th c.), Bolo-Hauz complex (18 – 20th cc.), Ismail Samanid Mausoleum (end of 9th – beginning of 10th cc.), Chashma-Ayub mausoleum (12 – 16th cc.), Chor-Minor Madrasah (1807). After lunch you will have enough time for shopping in Karvon bazaar – optional. After shopping you will have a time for leisure or we can recommend you the places you can visit. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

  • After breakfast and check out from the hotel you will start your trip to Khiva (480 km). leaving Bukhara region you will see the beauty of Kizil-Kum desert. Also you will have a short stop at the bank of Amudarya River, where you can take photos of these picturesque places. You will have a lunch at local roadside café or will pick up lunch boxes with you. After lunch you will go on moving towards Khiva and upon arrival check in the hotel. After a short rest at hotel you will have a dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

  • Khiva is one of the pearls of Uzbekistan like Samarkand and Bukhara, which consists of two parts: Ichan Kala (internal city, which is fenced with walls) and Dishan Kala (outer city). You will have full day sightseeing in the city. You will visit: Kukhna-Ark, Madrasah of Mukhammad Aminkhan (1851—1855), Madrasah of Muhammad-Rakhimkhan (1871), the mausoleum of Said Alauddin (1825-1842), Djuma (Friday) Mosque, Shergazikhan Madrasah (1719-1726), Architectural complex of Pahlavan Makhmud (1910), Minaret of Islamkhoja (1910), Ak-Mosque (1938-1842), Baths of Anushakhan (1657), Architectural monument at Palvan-darvaza (1806), Caravanserai and Madrasah of Allakulikhan (1834-1835), Tash-hauli palace (1831—1841).

    After excursion you will be transferred to the airport of Urgench to catch a flight to Tashkent. On arrival at Tashkent you will be met and transferred from local airport to International Airport to catch a departure flight.Departure flight home.
